MoJo Sports entered into the Fair industry because Joe Lewis was reading an article in Sports Business Journal about Television and Major League Baseball. The article discussed how in 1939 television approached Major League Baseball with the idea of airing a baseball game on television. In 1939, Major League Baseball said that they would "NEVER" put the game of baseball on television. "Television is something that belongs at the World's Fair to entertain people" a spokesperson for Major League Baseball said. Joe Lewis thought that if the Fair was how Television got started, then why not take the Mojo Pitching Cage and test the market. Joe decided to set up the Mojo Pitching Cage at the local fair in Lancaster, CA and the response was amazing!
